No Roses to make TV debut, CBC acquires worldwide rights

After a successful run on the global film festival circuit, the international rights for No Roses On A Sailor's Grave have been acquired by the prestigious CBC & Radio Canada Distribution.

The film will make its television debut on November 11th at 9pm E.T on Canada's Hollywood Suite network, before appearing on television screens across the world from then on.

John Henry Phillips, who co-produced the film and appears on screen, comments: "That a feature length indie film about two unknown Englishmen searching for a 78 year old shipwreck, with a wordy title from a century-old naval poem, is going to be on television is a testament to not only those of us on screen and behind the camera, but to the beauty and honesty that comes with telling timeless stories and sticking with something that feels right. No Roses is the opposite of where popular media is heading, which is partly why I’m so proud of making it, but we believed in the search for LCH 185 more than anything else in our lives at that time. It was everything, and I left a part of my soul on the bottom of the English Channel back in 2018. That earnestness has pushed this film further than we ever thought."

Daniel Oron of Go Button Media, the director and executive producer of the film, comments: “It has been a truly staggering, once in a lifetime experience to capture the story of Patrick and John’s search on film. With only a small number of World War II veterans still among us, it is critical we help tell and record these stories before they move on from living memory. We couldn’t be more thrilled that this story will soon be shared with Hollywood Suite’s viewers in Canada and that with CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution’s support, the film will now be available to audiences worldwide.”
